CIRAL activity report #2

This week I finished reading Spirit Level and will now work on creating an infographic to reflect main points of the book. I hosted another Evergreen Revival where Peter Bohmer spoke about past student actions. I've met with Tom Carlson who is on the Long Term Discussion Task Force. He's is going to help produce the Student Handbook and also pointed out that my work on opening up research papers written by past students has been a conversation the DTF has been having and are wanting to work on. Last Wednesday I partook in the Focus Group of the DTF and was told that perhaps I'll be contacted, along with the class, to help with improving the School's website. Additionally, I have continued my work with APALA, a group I'm working with that is compiling a traveling photo exhibit of Asian American workers - that makes clear that there are still folks working in Seattle who are exploited by their bosses.

Additionally, I'm planning to analyize two None-profits from GLOBAL.com's list of top 100 NGO's per week, which I have looked over -- Perhaps do a pattern analysis of them.

I also agreed to participate in the community health forum that Michael O'Niel is pulling together. My intention is to support him to what ever capacity I can and to learn more about the Collective Impact Model and how he is applying it within his community. As preperation I've printed off a few articles/papers that I could find on the subject and have been reading them.

In prep for creating the handbook I've met with Tom Carlson (who wants to collaborate), Peter McCoy (who produced the last Disorientation Manual), Jesse of SDS (who has agreed to possibly help out with graphic design), I've met with Randy Stilson of the Archives (he's offered to give his advice and gave me an original Evergreen Bulletin)
