More Information on LUAC/SHAC
Submitted by vondil31 on Wed, 2015-05-13 11:57
LUAC (Land Use Advisory Commission) is the governing body that gets to have a strong input into what plans get implemented in the area, I am hoping to be able to get contact or at least some more information on current events, some new plans, or even how I can get some more information on the development in the area. Naturally the final 'OK' needs to be given by Pierce County officials, but have to go through LUAC first. The people on the South Hill Advisory Commission are not elected, but are hired for no more than two consecutive four-year terms. One (if they are eligible) can apply for a position right now as there are only nine of the ten spots occupied. They (LUAC) meet the first Monday of every month at the local fire station in its training room.
Besides that information, I hope to attend a few Tacoma city council meetings this week and learn some more about what is occurring in that area. Hopefully I can attend a more local Puyallup meeting, but they have not updated the upcoming meetings for late May/early July.
