Open Source Governance
Submitted by jaimealarcon on Wed, 2014-04-23 03:08
This quarter I have been working as a volunteer Spanish-English interpreter for the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, translating documents and interpreting for the clients.
For the remaining of this quarter I would also like to work with Anthony and his Open Source Governance site. I believe that the idea of "direct representative government" it's worthy, and should be spread.
I can contribute to the project because I know that achieving this form of governance is a huge task, but is also not Utopian whatsoever; I have seen this kind of Government in action, during a 2 quarter period I lived in Venezuela and worked with a communal council, these communal councils were encouraged by the Chavez government but most of them didn't have a political affiliation, and pretty much work as self government entities for the community. I've written several papers about them and I would be happy to share what I learned there.
I can also help with ideas for the video, I recently took a workshop about crowd-funding at SCORE in Seattle

I have all the material from the workshop and some ideas that could help to get some money to fund the project.
