Veterans Outreach

Last week I attended my appointment at Washington Department of Veteran Affairs to assess my own veteran status disability review. It was not quite what I expected, I filled out a lot of paperwork. I was also hoping to review my medical service record with someone there and because they were short handed that could not be done. I ended of leaving my records with them to be reviewed at a later time. I can start to see what a bureaucratic nightmare the Veterans Affairs Department can be, and this was only at state level. Last week I contacted Mr. Willie Dawson he is a Regional manager for The mission continues www.misssioncontinues.org similar to the Wounded Warrior Program. He is going to be in Olympia in hopes of setting up a new" Platoon" of able bodied vets that are willing to help vets that are having a tough time reintegrating back into the "world". Members of our group will be attending, more to follow.
