Week 8
Submitted by EFagerness on Mon, 2015-03-02 20:12
This week I coordinated the job fair at Green Hill School in Chehalis. 127 youth attended the event with 17 vendors including: Local 86 Iron Workers Union, Home Depot (3 locations), Dunn Lumber, Department of Vocational Rehabilation, YouthBuild, Gravity (GED program), Pioneer Industries, Employment Pipeline, WorkSource, Juvenile Vocational Industries Program, and the Northwest Justice Project. The Timberland Regional Library attended and signed up and gave out over 80 library cards for youth to use when they get out and to access the online catalogue.
This weekend I also created and developed the Centralia Adopt-A-Block Facebook page for the program's unrollment. I created the program documents previously in CIRAL and this program has been coordinated between myself and Courtney Williams. We are now actively recruiting volunteers to "adopt" blocks within Centralia.
