Week 8 Activity Report

Evergreen Revival, Asian Pacific Island Club and the Care Network linked together to bring Alan Wong, a creative Facilitator, to campus this coming Sunday. For three hours he will be providing a free create facilitation workshop, teaching folks how to use creative activities to facilitate.

IN THIS ENERGETIC AND EXPERIENTIAL WORKSHOP,
current Evergreen students and Alumni will have the opportunity to buildcommunity across cultures and generations. We'll use fun and simple creative exercises that help to build genuine connection, understanding and inspiration. Get to know the extraordinary people who are currently attending Evergreen and those who did so in years past!

ALAN WONG IS AN INNOVATIVE TRAINER, EDUCATOR, & ARTIST,
who leads professional development and youth empowerment workshops throughout North America and beyond. He has been a lead facilitator with the Power of Hope youth-empowerment program for the last ten years, and was the Program Director and Program Manager there for eight. He attended the Evergreen State College from 1997 through 2001, focusing on World Literature and East/West Psychology. Alan has returned to Evergreen several times as a guest lecturer in Ryo Imamura's “Turning Eastward” psychology course.

AS A FACILITATOR,
Alan has worked with countless teens and trained hundreds of teachers, youth workers, and other non-profit leaders throughout Washington State and the Americas. He is known for leading engaging and inspiring trainings which provide participants with practical tools for re-imagining and revitalizing their lives and work. His approach to youth work is one which recognizes the innate wisdom and potential of young people, and helps individuals from all backgrounds to grow as leaders and as human beings. 

Alan has offered creative leadership trainings for the University of Washington, OSPI, GEAR UP, School's Out Washington, the College Success Foundation, the Waaponi Foundation (in Cuenca, Ecuador), the Evergreen State College, and many more. He is also trained as a diversity coach and ropes course leader.
