Week Four Activity Report

Continuing work with Evergreen Revival this week, we are making head way on our documentary project and have met three times in the last week. As previously mentioned, we are conducting the film as a ‘teaser’ to pool interest in our community health assessment project. We have met with John McClain of the Human Subject Review office to assess the necessity of obtaining a human subject review, we have decided to essentially start the application process in order to allow future students to access the archived project (done through the FERPA release) as to have the potential option of quantifying the data obtained from interviews. We are solidifying our interview process, crystallizing the creative concept for the film, and mapping our network of community members who would be useful for the project/are interested in getting involved. We are also working on promotion, outreach, identifying underrepresented populations and searching out their corresponding community locations, selecting sampling processes, and familiarizing with ethical qualitative research protocol.
