This week I attended a public meeting for Tacoma's new Eastside Farmer's Market that will begin in June. Members of the community had been working on getting a farmer's market in the East-side neighborhood for several years so it is a very exciting time for the community. The meeting was attended by members of the community, a city council member, representatives from Pierce County Public Health, Safe Streets, some area community gardens and Tacoma farmers market board members. The meeting was held to discuss the new market, as well as get input from the community about what they would like to see at the market.
